a sumptuous Christmas Eve dinner of rúpa (ptarmigan) bagged by Simmi and Rikki during the hunting season which closed on the 22nd. along with sugar-fried potatoes, cooked cabbage, gravy, steamed vegetables, followed by chocolate mousse and sherry custard. then came the opening of the consumer loot which took, mostly because of Loki, the better part of two hours. as the youngest cousin, he always makes a major haul, especially in Iceland at Christmas.
