Overcast
Hot – Humid

Left for home at 0830, via Augusta and the Maine Turnpike. The engine continued to overheat. At a sttion on the Turnpike — Kennebunk, ME, I noticed water at the end of the tail pipe and the mechanic found water in the oil. This must mean that a head gasket is leaking into the cooling system! Had lots of trouble the rest of the way home, draining and filling the cooling system three times from the trailer water tank.

Home at 7 PM — odometer 45150 — 2376 miles — 173 gallons gas — 13.7 mpg.

Glad to be home.
