Loki swims in his first swim meet ever, at seven, and wins a gold medallion for 50 meter breast stroke in 1m27s. it was a thoroughly enjoyable minute-and-a-half. he hadn’t been sure that he could even make it, and was thinking of not going to swim at all, the night before. on top of that, he was just recovering after having a bad cold.
