l’image is comprised of an image sequence arising from an immersive hitch-hiking journey through Belgium and central France (the Haute Loire, Normandy, Paris, Lyon, and the Sâone Valley) in the early spring of 1986. A week’s stop in Chalon-sur-Saône, the location of Nicéphore Niépce first photographic image set the tone with it’s luminous silver spring Light.
The series was chosen from 144 (4 rolls of) 35mm Tri-x negatives, and a limited edition portfolio (of six) was printed on Agfa Portriga paper (grades 1 and 2) that were subsequently sepia-toned and mounted on archival 14×17-inch 2-ply board. The mounted prints are presented in a hand-lettered and hand-folded Arches folio case.
