Biography:
Born 1958, Professor of Cultural Studies at the Muthesius-Hochschule in Kiel, Germany, Director of FORUM, center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Visiting Professor, University of California, Santa Cruz (1991-2), published books on Photography (Die aufgehobene Zeit. Die Erfindung der Photographie durch William Henry Fox Talbot, Berlin 1987; Allegory and Photography, Mannheim 1991; (ed) Photography after Photography, Berlin/New York 1995-6), and Media Theory (Television and Revolution, The Ultimatum of the Image, Rumania in December 1989, Marburg 1990), as well as articles relating to Melancholy and Deconstruction (Benjamin, Derrida). Exhibition Curator.
