Abstract:
"... That was a difficult time for the little hedgehog, but he suffered, suffered, and got better. During the last day his illness was tormenting him especially bad. But when the sun set on the horizon, the little hedgehog jumped out of bed, blew his little nose three times and in a blink of an eye turned into a stately prince The King was so happy that he gave his whole kingdom to his son in law. The young King brought his parents to the palace and then with his newlywed wife lived happily ever after."
Description of three works:
Video/computer art, installation "Latvian folk tale - The Hedgehog Coat" has two versions - 6 minutes long for screening (video projection) and 30 + 30 minutes long (loop) for the exhibition (video installation). Work is made on Beta cam tape, for demonstration - VHS.
The first version (5 minutes long, for screening): Naked person is reading Latvian folk tale "The Hedgehog Coat" (from the beginning to the end and from the end to the beginning, translated in English). The background consists of 200 rotating roses.
The second version (for video installation):includes four different folk tales separated from each other by pictures (an illustration of each tale) and different appearing and disappearing titles.
