UNDINA
Kostja Mitenev
Abstract:
Our famous predecessor, Dr. Frankenstein, was the first who tried to make the project of an ideal body's creation. He made a construct of dead parts of human bodies revived it. His idea was a good enough to make a biological machine which would not fear Death. But the Body was hard, bloody, and infernally fun. This was an ideal model to one community only - to Leningrad's Necrorealists.
We come to the problem from another side. We have decided to use the interactive ambience of Cyberspace as the material for the organisation of a Body Object. The length of the object would be reach between Russian and European information centers -- St. Petersburg - Helsinki - Vienna - Berlin - Amsterdam - London - Moscow; that is, between friendly servers.
The company of the expedition NETMAN has taken into consideration the fast creation of NETBODY:
- 1. Bioloid-Factory /k. tenev/ has condensed an interactive fabric to build the Body
- 2. Virtual Anatomy /a. twins/ has researched the functions of its digital organs
- 3. Mess Media /r. gruzov, t. abramov/ has constructed the oral apparatus of the Body
- 4. New Composers /v. alachov/ have formed its ambient
- 5. Muu RU Gallery /a. best, t. penttilä/ has organized a laboratory of NETMAN's work
The expedition came from St. Petersburg on the 14th of March to Helsinki and left on the 22nd of March 1996. We successfuly create the great construct of the NETBODY and organized its evolution in Cyberspace.
And so, NETBODY has assembled the parts:
- 1. Net-project UNDINA (United Digital Nations)
- 2. Net-magazine VIRTUAL ANATOMY
- 3. Web-pages of Net-punk MESS MEDIA
- 4. Web-pages of the last New Composer's sound AStrA
- 5. Web-pages of FINNISH media-artists
