dividing things into the obvious
material categories seems a bit counter-productive in a praxis that seeks to
de-stabilize the whole materialist - mechanistic - Newtonian - Cartesian
mode of being. however, for neoscenes, images are a relevant starting point
in exploring the noumenal world. this relation to 2-D marks on paper via Light,
optics, and chemistry goes back to early childhood and continued un-interrupted
until the late 1990's when the digital device was added as yet another
means for marking both paper and the flat luminosity of the screen.

30 years done
gone. from the halls and classrooms, to MacDonalds, Arbys,
the football field and bleachers, DisneyWorld, Daytona Beach,
wrestling, English and German class, Gaithersburg
High School 1975-1976 is represented here blemishes and
all. with (eventually) more than 450 images culled from the
personal archive, most never before revealed in print. scandalous!

the apocalyptic
dream chases for a long time, and finally catches up to

vision: an ikonic directive -- not post-nuclear vision -- present-vision.
curvilinear time, cyclic yet evolving (double-helix DNA perceptions
embedded in action dialectic interrogation Synthesis!).

fundamental to the darkening of silver salts is the photonic and electromagnetic properties of Light. indeed photography is about taking that apprehended Light and coaxing it into interaction with silver. watching Light
play with water is a constant source of in-spiration -- that is, a source for the bringing-in of spirit -- into the eyes, into the soul.
